Fitness facilities are often proposed in multi-use buildings with residences or other commercial tenants nearby. LSG&A provides baseline measurements in the proposed space to quantify the existing sound and impact isolation of the demising wall and floor/ceiling assemblies. Recommendations are developed for wall, ceiling, and floor constructions based upon the proposed fitness activities. LSG&A has worked for the fitness tenant as well as for affected parties to identify acoustical issues and solutions to resolve complaints related to fitness activities. Residential and corporate gyms are also a common source of complaints among residents and employees.
